Biography

Diego M. Cabrera completed medical school at Cayetano Heredia Peruvian University in Lima, Peru, and was awarded the NIH Fogarty International Center/NIAMS Global Health fellowship to conduct research focused on musculoskeletal outcomes in Peruvian women aging with HIV, osteoporosis, sarcopenia, and fractures. After the fellowship, he joined the Yale Section of Rheumatology, Allergy, and Immunology as a post-doctoral fellow, concentrating his studies on musculoskeletal outcomes related to COVID-19 hospitalization in the elderly population at Yale-New Haven Health System. He has completed his Internal Medicine Residency at the Yale-Waterbury Internal Medicine Residency Program and currently serves as a Rheumatology Fellow in the same section. His research interests are at the intersection of Rheumatic Diseases, Infectious Diseases, and Global Health.
