Biography

Diego Kuonen is a Professor of Data Science at the Geneva School of Economics and Management (GSEM) at the University of Geneva, Switzerland. He founded Statoo Consulting in 2001 and regularly advises companies and government agencies on statistical engineering and big data analytics at operational, tactical, and strategic levels. Kuonen is also the founding director of the new GSEM Master of Science in Business Analytics program. In addition, he serves as a senior scientific strategic advisor for data innovation at the Management Board of the Federal Statistical Office (OFS) in Neuchâtel, Switzerland, where he co-authored the data innovation strategy. He was the President of the Swiss Statistical Society from 2009 to 2015. Kuonen is a recognized thought leader in data-driven analytics, data-informed innovation, and policy making, and aims to bridge the gap between academic research and professional management practice to enable continuous improvement. He is ranked among the global 'Top 100 Influencers' in Big Data, Analytics, Artificial Intelligence, and Data Science, and is active on Twitter.
