Biography

Dillon Browne is an Associate Professor at the University of Waterloo's Department of Psychology. His research focuses on the impact of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and socioeconomic status on human development, exploring various domains such as cognition, academic achievement, socioemotional functioning, behavior, and mental health. Browne adopts a 'family systems' perspective in his research, emphasizing how stress and adversity can disrupt family dynamics across generations. His work provides empirical support for family systems theory, revealing that families are often 'more than the sum of their parts.'
