Biography

Dimitar Karadzhov is a Lecturer at the School of Health & Wellbeing within the College of Medical, Veterinary & Life Sciences at the University of Glasgow. He teaches the Global Mental Health MSc Programme, which includes both on-campus and online distance learning formats, and has contributed to the programme since 2016. He also serves as the School Employability Champion. Dr. Karadzhov's primary research interests revolve around mental health recovery, health inequalities, global mental health, and homelessness. He specializes in qualitative smartphone-assisted methodologies and employability, particularly focusing on future skills. He has a PhD in Public Health from the University of Strathclyde, awarded in 2020, and has experience with long-term knowledge exchange secondments at the Silver School of Social Work, New York University. In addition, he completed a Master of Science in Global Mental Health (with Distinction) and a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Psychology (with Distinction) at the University of Glasgow. His work includes leading projects aimed at enhancing discipline-specific employability skills awareness, as well as developing recovery-oriented support through co-production. He also teaches various courses related to mental health care, including qualitative and quantitative research methods.
