Biography

Dimitris Krallis was born in Athens where he lived during his childhood and teenage years. He studied political theory at the University of Athens, which inspired him to pursue a graduate degree in Byzantine Studies. He attended the University of Oxford, focusing on Byzantine social and political history. After a four-year military service, he taught at the American College of Greece in Athens before moving to the University of Michigan for his doctorate. Upon graduation, he joined the faculty at Simon Fraser University, where he teaches in the Department of Global Humanities and directs the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Centre for Hellenic Studies.
