Biography

Dimosthenis Kifokeris is an Associate Professor in Building Design at Chalmers University of Technology in the Department of Architecture and Civil Engineering. His main interests include regenerative construction production, construction management, construction informatics, and artificial intelligence applications within the field. His expertise encompasses machine learning, blockchain, Internet of Things (IoT), Building Information Modeling (BIM), and lean construction practices. Dimosthenis has been a leader and team member in several Swedish international projects with a total budget of approximately 60 million SEK, which have been funded by organisations such as Formas, SBUF, Vinnova, CMB, and Horizon Europe. His interdisciplinary research draws from labour process theory, labour theory of value, organisational theory, and data science. His PhD thesis utilized both supervised and unsupervised machine learning techniques to assess project constructability and risk analysis. He currently serves as Secretary of the Board for the European Council of Computing in Construction (EC3) and is a board member of the Construction Researchers Economics Organisation in the Nordic Region (CREON). He is also a member of the Association Researchers Construction Management (ARCOM) and leads a thematic group focused on Building Processes and Management at Sveriges Bygguniversitet. In addition, he chaired the EC3 2022 PhD Summer School held in Rhodes, Greece, from July 18-22, 2022.
