Biography

Dimphna Meijer is an assistant professor and group leader in the Quantitative Neurobiology Laboratory at TU Delft. She obtained her MSc (cum laude, 2008) in Experimental Clinical Neuroscience from Utrecht University. Her PhD research was conducted at the Neurobiology Department of Harvard Medical School and at the Cancer Biology Department of the Dana-Farber Cancer Center in Boston, USA. After returning to the Netherlands, she carried out postdoctoral work in the Crystal Structural Chemistry Department at Utrecht University and joined the Faculty of TU Delft in 2018. During her career, she has received several prestigious awards, including the EMBO long-term fellowship, the Marie Skłodowska Curie postdoctoral fellowship, the NWO VENI personal grant, and the NWO Vidi grant, as well as the Delft Technology Fellowship. Her research group focuses on the assembly of macromolecular complexes and the formation of neural circuitry. Her current research interests span brain cancer biology, tissue engineering, and bio-electronic circuits.
