Biography

Dingchang Lin is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at Johns Hopkins University. His research group focuses on developing biomolecules and materials for electronic devices that probe and modulate biological systems, with an emphasis on the central nervous system. The research aims to address major technological gaps in cell biology, neuroscience, and materials science. Lin's lab is particularly interested in creating materials that can seamlessly interface with living systems and respond to both internal physiological changes and external physical stimuli, enabling precise cell probing and modulation. He has been recognized as a Highly Cited Researcher by Clarivate in 2019 and has received multiple awards including the NIH NIGMS MIRA Award in 2022 and the Harvard Brain Institute Young Scientist Transitions Award in 2021. Lin has a Bachelor's degree in Materials Science and Engineering from Tsinghua University in China, completed his PhD at Stanford University in 2018, and pursued postdoctoral training at Harvard University.
