Biography

Dinko Chakarov is a Professor Emeritus in Physics with a focus on surface science. His research evaluates the mechanisms of optical excitations in nanoparticles and the related physical and chemical processes at interfaces. He has a particular interest in the physics and chemistry of water and carbon materials. Dinko received his PhD in Sofia, and he continued his academic career at Cornell University before joining Chalmers University in 1991. He has served as the Chairman of the Gothenburg Lise Meitner Award committee.
