Biography

Dino Messina MD PhD FACP received his MD and PhD from the State University of New York in Syracuse. He completed his Internal Medicine internship and residency at the University of Pittsburgh and was elected a Fellow of the American College of Physicians in 2012. In 2016, he joined the faculty at Brown University as an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of General Internal Medicine and became the Medical Director of the Center for Primary Care. He was promoted to Associate Professor of Medicine in 2018. Dr. Messina is an active member of the American College of Physicians and focuses his academic interests on improving health outcomes for vulnerable patient populations, team-based care, the impact of health literacy on chronic disease management, and enhancing the continuity clinic experience for medical trainees. In his spare time, he enjoys cycling, kayak fishing, and hiking, and spending time with his wife and children.
