Biography

Dinusha Vatsalan joined the School of Computing at Macquarie University in May 2022 as a Senior Lecturer in Cyber Security. She received her PhD in Computer Science from the Australian National University and her BSc (Honours) in Information Communication Technology from the University of Colombo, Sri Lanka. Previously, Dinusha was a Research Scientist at Data61, CSIRO. Her research interests include record linkage, data mining, machine learning, data sharing, and data quantification. Dinusha has authored 60 scientific articles throughout her career and has received multiple prestigious awards, including the Australian government’s Endeavour Postgraduate Research Award, the Ruby Payne-Scott Award from CSIRO, and the Women in Science Career Award from CSIRO. Additionally, she was honored with the National e-Content Award in Sri Lanka and has been involved in various research collaborations.
