Biography

Diogo Carneiro joined the University of Edinburgh as a Teaching Fellow in 2024. He has a strong academic background, having received his PhD in Philosophy from the University of Warwick. His teaching responsibilities include courses on Philosophy Well-Being and Environmental Ethics at the undergraduate level, and Philosophy, Science, and Religion at the postgraduate level. Prior to his current role, Diogo served as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Moral Philosophy at IFILNOVA (NOVA University Lisbon) and worked as an Associate Tutor at the University of Warwick. His research interests center on moral and political philosophy, with a focus on normativity, objectivity, reasons, social justice, public reason, and empathy. Diogo is committed to engaging students in deep philosophical discussions and fostering critical thinking skills through his teaching.
