Biography

Dion Bongaerts is a Professor of Financial Technology and Data Analytics at the Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University Rotterdam. He serves as the Academic Director of Fintech at the Erasmus Center for Data Analytics. His research focuses on the behavior of credit rating agencies, pricing of credit risky instruments, the origins and effects of market illiquidity, and FinTech with an emphasis on Blockchain and Artificial Intelligence. Bongaerts holds a PhD in Finance from the University of Amsterdam and an MSc in Econometrics from Maastricht University, along with experience as a visiting scholar at institutions like Yale School of Management and the University of Pittsburgh. He also worked in risk management at ABN-AMRO bank.
