Dipen Shah obtained his medical degree in 1988 in India, followed by a specialization in internal medicine and cardiology in 1992. He then undertook a post-doctoral fellowship in Bordeaux, where he specialized in cardiac electrophysiology, particularly in the ablation of atrial fibrillation, left flutters, and complex ventricular and atrial arrhythmias. He has been at HUG since 2002, focusing his clinical and scientific interests on atrial fibrillation, macro-reentrant atrial tachycardias, and new technologies to improve cardiac arrhythmia ablation. A member of the Heart Rhythm Society, he is also on the editorial board of several international scientific journals. He became a privat-docent at the Faculty of Medicine at Geneva in 2006, was appointed associate professor in the Department of Internal Medicine Specialties in 2007, and was promoted to full professor in January 2015.
