Biography

Dirk Bergemann is the Douglass Marion Campbell Professor of Economics at Yale University and has been part of the Yale faculty since 1995. He received his Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania in 1994. Prior to Yale, he was a faculty member at Princeton University. Bergemann's research interests include game theory, contract theory, venture capital, and market design, with a recent focus on auction information design. He has been involved in significant editorial roles, including Co-Editor of the American Economic Review: Insights and Econometrica. He served as the Chair of the Department of Economics from 2013 to 2019 and has received support for his research from prestigious organizations such as the National Science Foundation and the Sloan Foundation. He is a member of the Cowles Foundation for Research in Economics and a fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and the Econometric Society.
