Biography

Dirk Eilander is an Assistant Professor at the Institute for Environmental Studies (IVM) of Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. He obtained his PhD from Vrije Universiteit, specializing in large-scale compound flood risk modeling in coastal deltas. His work involves addressing complex national and international research consultancy projects across locations such as Indonesia, Africa, the United States, and Europe, and includes expertise in catchment hydrology, hydrodynamics, natural hazards, risk assessments, climate change adaptation, big data, and spatial analysis.
