Dirk Hackbarth is a Professor of Finance at Boston University Questrom School of Business. He holds a PhD and MS in Finance from the Haas School of Business, University of California, Berkeley; an MSc in Economics from the London School of Economics; and a Diplom in Business Economics from the University of Cologne. Dirk teaches both graduate and undergraduate courses in corporate finance and is recognized as a distinguished scholar in the field. Dirk has held various positions, including Faculty Fellow and Associate Professor of Finance (tenured in 2008) at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and has been a visiting scholar at numerous prestigious institutions, including the Bonn Graduate School of Economics and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Before entering academia, Dirk worked in finance at Bain, DZ Bank, and Union Bank of Switzerland.
