Biography

Dr. Dirk Jongkind is a Senior Research Fellow in New Testament Text and Language at Tyndale House in Cambridge. He transitioned from a career in horticulture to biblical studies in the late 1990s after studying at Tyndale Theological Seminary in the Netherlands. He earned an MA in Old Testament, an MPhil from Cambridge in 2000, and a PhD in 2005. Dr. Jongkind was involved in the curatorial preparation of the Codex Sinaiticus digitisation project at the British Library. His principal research interests focus on textual transmission of Greek Scriptures, examining manuscripts, linguistic issues, grammar, syntax, and lexicography. He notably edited 'The Greek New Testament, Produced by Tyndale House, Cambridge', which was published by Cambridge University Press and Crossway in 2017, a culmination of a decade's work. Additionally, he contributed a chapter to 'The Text and Lexicography of the New Testament in the Eighteenth and Nineteenth Centuries', part of the 'History of Biblical Interpretation' series, which offers insights on the evolution of biblical text and its study during that period.
