Biography

Divya Sivaramakrishnan is a Chancellor's Fellow at the University of Edinburgh, specializing in the Scottish Collaboration Public Health Research Policy within the Department of Nursing Studies. As a mixed methods researcher, she has extensive experience in intervention development and evaluation. Her notable work includes serving as a postdoctoral researcher on the Stand Health project, which aimed to reduce sedentary behavior in contact centers through an NIHR funded initiative that evaluated the feasibility of a program using a cluster randomized stepped wedge study design. Divya completed her PhD at the University of Edinburgh focusing on developing a yoga intervention for older adults and is a certified yoga teacher. Her research interests revolve around the development and evaluation of public health interventions that promote healthy aging and physical activity while addressing sedentary behavior across diverse populations. Currently, she is engaged in research in health aging in India, collaborating with researchers at ISEC, Bangalore to explore ageism and age norms in urban India, and is involved in developing interventions to mitigate sedentary behavior during menopause.
