Dr. Divya Victor

Biography

Divya Victor’s writing, editing, and research focus on 20th and 21st-century emergent poetry and poetics, with an emphasis on the innovative and experimental forms that poets undertake to represent trauma and systemic intersubjectivity. She is the author of several acclaimed works, including *CURB*, which won the 2022 PEN America Open Book Award and the Kingsley Tufts Poetry Award. Victor's work has appeared in numerous venues, such as BOMB, the New Museum’s Animated Reader, and boundary2. Additionally, she has translated works from French, German, Spanish, and Czech. Victor has held significant fellowships, including the Mark Diamond Research Fellowship at the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum and has been a writer-in-residence at various prestigious institutions. As an Associate Professor of English at Michigan State University, her expertise encompasses Literary Studies, Creative Writing, Race and Ethnic Studies, and Global Diasporic Studies. Victor has also served as an editor for respected literary publications such as Jacket2 and Invisible Publishing, focusing on amplifying diverse voices in contemporary literature.
