Biography

Dmitri joined University of Glasgow in 2017, serving as a Senior Lecturer in Corporate Finance and Banking before becoming Professor of Finance. Prior to this, he worked at Essex Business School, University of Essex, UK, University of Heidelberg, Germany, and the Higher School of Economics in Moscow, Russia. His research focuses on the microeconomic foundations of finance, exploring applications of microeconomics to uncertainty in financial markets, banking, public finance, and the macroeconomic implications of finance. Dmitri investigates the role that financial systems play in economic growth and their effects on inequality and well-being. He is involved in various funded projects by the EU, UN, British Academy, Bank of England, and the Russian Foundation for Fundamental Research. His research interests include financial intermediation during financial crises and the impact of individual decisions under uncertainty on financial markets and well-being. Dmitri is also actively supervising doctoral research in areas such as Banking, Corporate Finance, and Behavioral Finance. Additionally, he teaches courses on Financial Markets and Financial Risk Management at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, and serves on the editorial board of the Journal of Industrial Business Economics.
