Biography

Dmitri Williams is a professor at the USC Annenberg School for Communication. He researches the intersection of technology and society, with a particular focus on games and community. Williams' expertise includes areas such as business, computation informatics, digital media, entertainment, and entrepreneurship, among others. He is affiliated with the Annenberg Game Lab and teaches courses related to technology, society, and data analytics in games. His current work investigates the social value of online games and their broader socio-economic impacts. Williams conducts longitudinal research using online gaming experiments, employing a diverse array of methods including experiments, surveys, machine learning, and content analysis, with occasional ethnographic studies.
