Biography

Doina MALAI holds a medical degree from the University of Cluj (Romania) and a Master's in Community Health from the Université de Montréal. From 2003 to 2009, she worked as a planning, programming, and research agent at the Montreal Public Health Directorate. Since 2009, she has been a scientific advisor, coordinating and supporting work related to skill development at the Quebec National Institute of Public Health (INSPQ) and producing academic and continuing education in collaboration with universities and health network partners. She is an Associate Professor at the Department of Social and Preventive Medicine, responsible for internships at INSPQ and a lecturer at the Department of Health Administration at the École de santé publique of Université de Montréal. Throughout her 28-year career in public health, she has developed numerous skills in programming, planning, project management, prevention, and health promotion. She has addressed various issues concerning tobacco control, physical activity promotion, cardiovascular disease prevention, and public health policy impact assessment.
