Biography

Dominic Pasura is a sociologist and senior lecturer in Sociology at the University of Glasgow. His research interests encompass African studies, transnational relations processes, diaspora studies, and the sociology of religion. He has authored and co-authored numerous publications, including significant works such as 'African Transnational Diasporas: Fractured Communities and Plural Identities of Zimbabweans in Britain' and 'Migration, Transnationalism, and Catholicism: Global Perspectives'. Additionally, Pasura co-edited the 'Routledge Handbook of Contemporary African Migration', providing a multidisciplinary overview of African international migration. He has taught and researched at esteemed institutions, including University College London and Middlesex University, prior to joining Glasgow. Currently, he is the principal investigator of a project funded by the Economic and Social Research Council, examining the religious and spiritual lives of transnational young people from African migrant backgrounds in the UK and Africa. His supervision of PhD students focuses on topics related to migration, identity formation, and the transnational experiences of diverse communities.
