Biography

Dr. Dominic Paterson is a Professor of History of Art at the University of Glasgow. His research explores the methodological, historiographic, and aesthetic issues arising from the application of Michel Foucault’s work to the discipline of art history. His interests include appropriation, citation, and the reanimation of avant-garde and neo-avant-garde strategies in contemporary art, focusing on the politics of the body in post-war American art.
