Biography

Dominic Verity began his computational career in the early 1980s as a software developer and was a significant contributor to Acorn Computers, a British pioneering personal computing company. This company developed the BBC Microcomputer, which ultimately led to the invention of the ubiquitous ARM microprocessor. His research interests encompass areas such as Homotopy Theory, Algebraic Topology, and Category Theory, with a strong focus on applying these concepts to Computer Science, particularly in Programming Languages. Verity has also been engaged in teaching and academic leadership roles, receiving recognition for his contributions to educational excellence, including a Vice-Chancellor's Award and a national teaching award for his inspirational leadership in information technology education.
