Professor Fischer is a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon specializing in the treatment of retinal diseases. With more than 100 invited lectures and authorship of over 70 peer-reviewed articles, he also advises patient advocacy groups and the biotech and pharmaceutical industry, serving as an expert advisor to the European Medicines Agency and acting as an editor for scientific journals. His ongoing research addresses blinding disorders and aims at developing treatment options for various visual system conditions.
