Don Deere is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Philosophy at Texas A&M University. He has also served as a faculty member at Wesleyan University. Don earned his Ph.D. in Philosophy with distinction from DePaul University in 2016, where he also completed his M.A. in Philosophy in 2009. He holds two B.A. degrees from Cornell University in Philosophy and Government, as well as a Certificate in Latin American Studies. His research interests focus on the intersections of Latin American, Caribbean, and Contemporary Continental European Philosophy, with specific areas of specialization including Decolonial Philosophy, 20th Century Continental Philosophy, and Social & Political Philosophy. Don is the author of the forthcoming book, "Invention Order: Coloniality Space," set to be published by Duke University Press in Spring 2025, and has contributed as a co-translator for Santiago Castro-Gómez’s work, published in 2021. He is a recipient of the Mellon Mays Fellowship and the Mellon Career Enhancement Faculty Fellowship.
