Dr. Don Dizon

Biography

Don Dizon is a Professor of Surgery and Medicine at Brown University, serving as the Director of the Pelvic Malignancies Program at Lifespan Cancer Institute and Head of Community Outreach Engagement at Legorreta Cancer Center. He is also the Director of Medical Oncology at Rhode Island Hospital. With a focus on the advancement of medical practice, Dizon is a nationally recognized expert actively involved in research on novel treatments for ovarian, uterine, and cervical cancers. He emphasizes the importance of communication, survivorship, and professional advocacy on behalf of sexual and gender minoritized communities. In his role with the SWOG Cancer Research Network, he serves as the Vice Chair for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. Dizon is a founding member of the Collaboration Outcomes using Oncology initiative. He is a fellow of the American College of Physicians and the American Society of Clinical Oncology, receiving numerous accolades including the Dean’s Teaching Award from the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University.
