Dr. Don Urquhart

Biography

Don Urquhart is a researcher focused on pediatric respiratory health, with a particular emphasis on Cystic Fibrosis (CF) and associated conditions like sleep-disordered breathing. His academic journey includes a BSc in Medical Sciences and an MB ChB from the University of Aberdeen, followed by an MSc with Distinction from the University of London, and an MD from University College London. Since then, he has actively contributed to the field through various research projects and clinical trials, particularly in the realm of exercise and sleep research in children with CF. His notable projects include acting as Principal Investigator for several trials involving novel pharmaceutical agents and exercise interventions that demonstrate significant improvements in the quality of life and hospitalization rates in children with CF. As a member of the European Cystic Fibrosis Society and the European Respiratory Society, Don has contributed to international guidelines and collaborative research, underscoring the importance of multi-center studies in pediatric care. His ongoing research continues to explore the interplay between exercise, sleep, and respiratory health, furthering understanding in this critical area of pediatric medicine.
