Dr. Donald Brean

Biography

Donald Brean is a Professor Emeritus at the Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto, specializing in Finance, Economic Analysis, and Policy. He instructs courses on International Finance and International Economics. His research focuses on international investment, public finance, and economic policy, particularly in transitioning economies. Brean has held various academic leadership roles, including Academic Director for Diploma Programs at Woodsworth College and Associate Dean of the Faculty of Management. He has been a Visiting Professor at notable institutions including Nankai University and the University of Cambridge. In addition, he has directed the Centre d'Etudes de la France et du Monde Francophone, and has contributed significantly to the field through multiple publications, including articles on Canadian-American banking and the economic implications of financial liberalization in Canada. Brean earned his PhD from the University of Toronto and has advanced degrees from the London School of Economics and Saint Mary's University.
