Biography

Dr. Donald Fentie is a Clinical Professor of Urology at the College of Medicine, University of Saskatchewan. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science from the University of Alberta in 1977 and earned his MD from the same university in 1979, where he also received a gold medal in medicine surgery. Following graduation, he completed his internship at the Royal Jubilee Hospital in Victoria, B.C. from 1979 to 1980 and went on to complete a residency in Urology at the University of Alberta from 1980 to 1985. He worked as an attending physician in Urology at various hospitals including Royal University Hospital, St. Paul's Hospital, and Saskatoon City Hospital from 1985 to 2012. He has a keen interest in endourology and laparoscopic urologic surgery, having performed one of the first laparoscopic nephrectomies in Canada in 1993. Currently, he is semi-retired but continues to assist with surgical procedures for the Saskatchewan Health Authority.
