Biography

Donald Koch received his B.S. in Chemical Engineering and B.A. in History from Case Western Reserve University in 1981. He earned his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1986. Following a year of postdoctoral study at DAMTP, Cambridge University, he joined the School of Chemical Engineering at Cornell University where he is now a full professor. Koch is a fellow of the American Physical Society and has co-authored over 100 scientific publications in areas such as particulate multiphase flow and has supervised 18 Ph.D. students. His research focuses on Rheology, transport processes in particle suspensions, porous media, micro- and nano-structured materials, and many other related fields.
