Dr. Donald Lannin

Biography

Donald Lannin graduated from the University of Minnesota, where he also completed his General Surgery residency and pursued a fellowship in oncology funded by the National Institutes of Health. He rose through the ranks to become a Professor of Surgery at East Carolina University before joining the faculty at Yale University in 2002. With over 30 years of experience in surgery, he was instrumental in the establishment of the Breast Center at the Smilow Cancer Hospital in New Haven, serving as Executive Director from 2002 to 2010. His research interests focus on Breast Diseases, Breast Neoplasms, and Surgical Oncology, contributing to over 65 publications and 2,076 citations. Lannin has collaborated frequently with notable researchers in the field and has received several honors, including the Alpha Omega Alpha award and the American College of Surgeons Young Surgeon Award.
