Donald Naugle's research interests include the use of sophisticated experimental techniques to study high-temperature superconductors and the interplay of magnetic nanostructures with highly disordered metals, as well as the development of new materials for future technology. He has been a member of the Texas A&M faculty since 1969 and received his B.A. degree from Rice University and his Ph.D. from Texas A&M University. Throughout his career, he has worked with faculty members from the chemistry, chemical engineering, and mechanical engineering departments to establish an interdisciplinary materials research program, which eventually evolved into the Department of Material Science and Engineering. His primary appointment is in the Department of Physics and Astronomy, where his research program offers students the opportunity to participate in interdisciplinary research utilizing advanced characterization techniques and preparation facilities.
