Donald Patrick is a Professor Emeritus in Health Systems Population Health. He was the Director of Social Behavioral Sciences at the School of Public Health from 1987 to 2006. He has taught courses in the MPH and PhD programs in Health Services and is known for his extensive publications on outcomes related to vulnerable populations, chronic illness, and health disparities, as well as end-of-life care. Patrick directs the Biobehavioral Cancer Prevention and Control Training Program funded by the National Cancer Institute. He teaches a course on Assessing Outcomes in Health Medicine. Patrick is a member of the Institute of Medicine and was the founding president of the International Society for Quality of Life Research. He has also served as a co-convenor for the Quality of Life Methods Group within the Cochrane Collaboration.
