Biography

Dong Liu is the Thomas R. Williams Chair and Professor of Management in Organizational Behavior at the Scheller College of Business, Georgia Institute of Technology. He received his PhD in Business Administration from the Michael G. Foster School of Business at the University of Washington in 2011 and holds an MPhil in Management from the Faculty of Business Administration at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. His research interests include event system theory, workplace proactive behaviors such as creativity and citizenship behavior, as well as counterproductive behaviors like turnover and abusive supervision. He particularly focuses on examining the multilevel interface among individuals, teams, organizations, and cultures. His work has been published in various respected journals including the Academy of Management Journal and Harvard Business Review. He has taught courses in organizational behavior, cross-cultural management, leadership development, and advanced research methods at both undergraduate and graduate levels. Liu has received numerous awards recognizing his research and teaching excellence including the Scholarly Achievement Award and the Early Career Achievement Award from the Academy of Management Society.
