Dr. Donna Briggs Bødtkjer

Biography

Donna Marie Briggs Bødtkjer is an Associate Professor at Aarhus University, specializing in human lymphatic circulation research. Her work primarily involves studying the unique characteristics of human lymphatic vessels to uncover targets for drug development. With a strong focus on integrating anatomical and physiological factors, she adopts both ex vivo and in vivo translational approaches in her investigations. Bødtkjer also holds a course coordination role in the Bachelor of Medicine program, specifically teaching medical physiology. She supervises theoretical and practical projects for medical students and plays a crucial role as a censor for Bachelor and Master’s educations in Medicine in Denmark. In addition to her primary responsibilities, she engages in interdisciplinary research that intersects with medical history and anatomical practices. Bødtkjer has received recognition for her research contributions, including a Young Investigators Travel Grant from the International Union of Physiological Sciences in 2009. As an active member of the academic community, she collaborates on various projects and workshops, contributing to advancements in lymphatic vessel physiology and medical history.
