Dr. Donna Shelley

Biography

Donna Shelley is a tenured Professor at the NYU School of Global Public Health, where she serves as the Co-Director of the Global Center for Implementation Science. Her research primarily focuses on translational, population-based, and policy-relevant areas aimed at improving tobacco treatment and health care delivery systems. She has been funded by significant institutions including the National Cancer Institute, National Institute on Drug Abuse, and the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute. Her work addresses the dual burden of communicable and noncommunicable diseases in low- and middle-income countries, particularly the health impacts on individuals living with HIV/AIDS. Shelley's applied research includes evaluating public policies like the smoke-free public housing initiative and developing effective intervention strategies for tobacco cessation in primary care settings.
