Dr. Donté Flanagan

Biography

Donté Flanagan, DNP, CRNA, FAANA, is a dedicated lecturer in the Doctor of Nursing Practice Nurse Anesthesia program at the University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing. A Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist, Dr. Flanagan possesses over fifteen years of experience across eight hospitals and medical centers in various states and specialties, including pediatrics, obstetrics, and neurology. His commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) drives his initiatives within the nursing profession. As a fellow of the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists (AANA), Dr. Flanagan chairs the DEI committee and is a founding member of the National Black Nurses Association in Greater New York City. He also engages in community-focused educational programs, advocating for underrepresented groups in nurse anesthesia. Dr. Flanagan's contributions include several guest lectures at prominent universities and involvement in wellness initiatives designed to empower students and clinicians. He holds a DNP from Columbia University, an MSN from Samford University, and a BSN from Emory University, where he was recognized as an Outstanding Alumnus. His work as a motivational speaker reinforces his dedication to inspiring future leaders in nursing and advocating for systemic change in healthcare access.
