Biography

Dorrin Jarrahbashi is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Texas A&M University. He earned his Ph.D. in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering from the University of California, Irvine in 2014. Prior to that, he completed his M.S. in Aerospace Engineering at Sharif University of Technology in 2007 and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the Iran University of Science & Technology in 2005. Jarrahbashi also completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the Georgia Institute of Technology from 2015 to 2017. His key research interests include Computational Fluid Dynamics, High-Speed Reacting and Non-Reacting Multiphase Flow, Atomization and Spray, Supercritical Flows, Multiphase Combustion, and Nanoparticle Spray Deposition. He has received several notable awards, including the Dean Engineering Excellence Award in 2024, the NSF CAREER Award in 2023, and the APS Gallery Fluid Motion Award from the American Physical Society-Division of Fluid Dynamics in 2016.
