Biography

Doryen Bubeck is a Professor of Structural Immunology at Imperial College London and Director of the Centre for Structural Biology. He leads team 10 at the Francis Crick Institute, focusing on the molecular mechanisms underpinning host-pathogen interactions. After obtaining his B.Sc. in Biochemistry/Biophysics from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Doryen pursued his PhD in Biophysics at Harvard University. His postdoctoral training included an EMBO fellowship and a fellowship at the Cancer Research Institute while working at the University of Oxford under Professor Yvonne Jones. Doryen has had a progressive academic career, initially appointed as a Junior Research Fellow at St John's College, University of Oxford, before joining Imperial College London as a Lecturer in 2012. He was promoted to Senior Lecturer in 2017, Reader in Structural Immunology in 2021, and full Professor in 2023. His contributions to structural biology have led to his recognition as a Fellow of the Royal Society of Biology and a recipient of the GlaxoSmithKline Award from the Biochemical Society in 2026.
