Biography

Doug Magnuson is a Professor at the University of Victoria, where he serves as a Graduate Advisor in the areas of Educational Psychology and Leadership Studies. He has completed his BA, MA, and PhD from the University of Minnesota. His academic interests are centered in Educational Psychology, focusing on Informal Education, Youth Services, and Social Psychology. He also specializes in Data Visualization and Research Methods, employing both qualitative and quantitative approaches to analyze data. Magnuson has conducted significant research, including the Risky Business study that investigates issues faced by street-involved youth. His contributions to the field include a range of publications that capture his extensive work and findings in educational methodologies. As a Graduate Advisor, he is deeply invested in guiding students through their educational development in the Master's and PhD programs for both Educational Psychology and Leadership Studies.
