Doug Surtees joined the faculty of the College of Law at the University of Saskatchewan in 2005. He began teaching as a sessional lecturer in the College of Law in 1994 and held a term appointment in 2002-2003. Doug has taught in various capacities and has also lectured in the College of Agriculture and the College of Commerce (now the Edwards School of Business) at Saskatchewan Polytechnic. He served as Co-Director of the Public Legal Education Association of Saskatchewan (PLEA) from 1994 to 2005 and has experience as an arbitrator and adjudicator under the Foreign Worker Recruitment and Immigration Services Act. Additionally, he is a certified mediator and an active member of the Saskatchewan bar. His past leadership roles include being the board member and past president of Easter Seals Canada, president of the Saskatchewan Abilities Council, and board member of PLEA. Doug has been involved with the Saskatchewan Prevention Institute and has chaired the Governance Committee for Saskatoon Co-op.
