Dougald O'Reilly holds a PhD in Archaeology from the University of Otago in Dunedin, New Zealand. His research has explored the development of political complexity during the Bronze and Iron Ages in Thailand. He began his academic journey in Cambodia in 1999, serving as a lecturer at the Royal University of Fine Arts in Phnom Penh under UNESCO. O'Reilly has received numerous awards for his contributions to educational programs, including the ANU Vice-Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Education in 2018.
