I received my Ph.D. from the University of Toronto, working under the supervision of Chandler Davis. My contributions to knowledge include two books, over 50 refereed journal publications, and numerous lectures in Canada and abroad. I am primarily known for research works in noncommutative convexity, Toeplitz operators and matrices, local multiplier algebras, operator systems and algebras, and quantum probability measures. I teach a variety of courses, from first-year undergraduate courses to courses for doctoral students, including calculus, linear algebra, discrete mathematics, differential equations, modern algebra, complex analysis, Lie groups, measure theory, functional analysis, operator algebras, quantum information theory, topology, and history of mathematics. Additionally, I have developed online courses in algebra and applied calculus. A highlight of my teaching career was spending a month in 2017 at the African Institute for the Mathematical Sciences in Kigali, Rwanda, where I had the opportunity to support the growth of many young scholars. I also work closely with initiatives for Saskatchewan Indigenous Youth.
