Biography

Doug Gollin joined the Department of Economics at the University of Oxford in 2022, after spending ten years at the Oxford Department of International Development. He was previously on the faculty of Williams College in the United States from 1996 to 2012. His research broadly focuses on economic development and growth, with an emphasis on structural transformation, agricultural productivity, and technology. Currently, he serves as the academic director of the research programme on Structural Transformation and Economic Growth (STEG), which is funded by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Office and managed by the Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR).
