Biography

Douglas Katz is a Professor at the Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine at Boston University. He obtained his MD from Stony Brook University and his BA from Brandeis University. Katz has dedicated his research to traumatic brain injury (TBI), neurorehabilitation, cognitive and behavioral neurology, as well as acquired brain injuries and disorders of consciousness. For 27 years, he has served as the medical director of the Brain Injury Program at Braintree Rehabilitation Hospital in Massachusetts, where he developed and implemented brain injury rehabilitation programs. He has held significant positions in professional organizations, including serving as President of the American Congress of Rehabilitation Medicine (ACRM). Katz has received multiple awards for his contributions to the field, including the Lifetime Achievement Award from ACRM and the Compassionate Care Award from the Brain Injury Association of Massachusetts.
