Biography

Douglas Silin, MD, is an Associate Professor of Radiology and Biomedical Imaging at Yale School of Medicine and the Residency Program Director for Interventional Radiology. He is dedicated to the education of future interventional radiologists at Yale New Haven Hospital. Dr. Silin, originally from the greater Boston area, received his undergraduate degree in Computer Science from Dartmouth College before pursuing a medical degree at Boston University School of Medicine. He completed his internship at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore and his residency at Saint Vincent Hospital in 1995, followed by a fellowship at Yale-New Haven Hospital in 1996. After nine years of developing an interventional radiology practice in Indiana, he returned to New Haven in 2005. Dr. Silin's research interests include artificial intelligence in medical imaging, image-guided biopsies, and the management of neoplasms. He has several patents and numerous speaking engagements, committed to advancing the field of interventional radiology. His clinical work focuses on minimally invasive procedures, employing advanced imaging techniques to reduce patient discomfort during complex interventions. He is passionate about helping patients alleviate pain and improve their quality of life.
