Douglas G. Simpson is a professor in the Department of Statistics at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. His research interests encompass applied computational statistics, quantitative image analysis, machine learning, functional data, and robust semiparametric statistical methods. He served as Associate Editor for the Journal of the American Statistical Association and Biometrics, and was involved with the Chemometrics and Intelligent Laboratory Systems journal.
